This policy explains how Brisbane Magpies Volleyball Club collects, uses and protects personal information provided through this website. The club is responsible for deciding how that information is used.

Information we collect

When you create an account or make a booking, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, Instagram handle, declared and assessed playing level, account status, session bookings, team assignment, payment method, payment status and club-credit transactions. We also keep the verification and operational records needed to protect accounts, manage capacity and maintain community safety.

How we use it

We use this information to operate player accounts; verify identity; assess session eligibility; manage bookings, payments, waitlists and teams; communicate about sessions; prevent misuse; enforce club rules; resolve disputes; and meet legal or financial record-keeping requirements. We do not sell player information.

Cookies and account security

The website uses strictly necessary cookies to keep players and the owner signed in securely. These cookies are not used for advertising. Technical security information, such as an IP address and browser details, may be processed for login protection and abuse prevention.

Service providers and payments

The website and its database are hosted by Cloudflare. Card payments are handled by Stripe Checkout; the club website does not receive or store your complete card number. PayID transfers are completed through your bank or payment provider. Instagram is used only when you choose to contact the club or send an account-verification message. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Who can see your information

Authorised club administrators can access player and booking records where required to run sessions. Players with a confirmed place or active payment hold for the same session may see the display names and team assignments of other participants in that session. They cannot see other players’ contact details, Instagram handles, account status or full booking history.

Retention and protection

We retain records only for as long as reasonably needed for club operations, safety, dispute handling, accounting and legal obligations. We use access controls, password hashing, signed secure cookies and server-side permission checks, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, subject to any records the club must retain. You may also ask questions or raise a privacy concern by messaging @brisbane_magpies_volleyball on Instagram. The club may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Children and young players

This online account and booking service is not directed to children under 13. Players under 18 should use it only with permission from a parent or guardian and must comply with any additional participation requirements communicated by the club.

Changes

We may update this policy when the website or the club’s practices change. The current version and its update date will remain available on this page.
